View Full Version : Several little bugs

I've read through the messages in this area and some have been touched on and others have not. Forgive the reference in the post to some items that are repeats, but this is my list.

On a site that I designed for a client at:

http://www.americangrey.co.uk

There are several little things that didn't transfer properly. He uses a lot of parenthesis and some of them are okay and others were converted to squares. Some are in the description of the photo and others are in the comments. Some have been manually fixed already.

There is also a problem in some posts in the description and in the comments where the apostrophe is a problem and I realize this has been addressed. Is there a fix for it yet?

I went into his controls and I noticed the very nice feature where you can edit the comments, but when I attempted to edit comments to change some parenthesis from the squares they had been changed to, I had to change the apostrophes which were okay before into two words in order for the change to be accepted. i.e., isn't to is not and again, this was in the comments.

There is one post in particular at:

http://www.americangrey.co.uk/index.php?showimage=329#

Where 10 comments were clumped into one comment and the links to the photoblogs of those who had posted is gone. I attempted to change the parenthesis and apostrophes in all of those comments and it wouldn't allow me to make any changes.

I also noticed his control panel and in my own photoblog control panel for:

http://www.pixelshells.com

That if you want to edit the description of a photo, you cannot hi-light the info to copy and paste it. Is there a fix so that can be hi-lighted?

Yes, this is twenty questions and I appreciate any input. Please don't flog me for asking some repeat questions.

please post your server configurations from the admin section of pixelpost, i assume all of these are on the same server setup? and i assume you are speaking about pixelpost 1.5 beta in this thread?

Update Pixelpost to 1.5 Beta. This step should solve the most of your problems, a specialy that I dont see any squares in descriptions :P

The upgrade to version 1.5 of pixelpost is what caused these issues on both of these sites and yes, they are hosted on the same server. The info in the pixelpost.php is identical to what what on the older version.

Are either of you able to see the squares in lieu of the parenthesis in the comments at:

http://www.americangrey.co.uk/index.php?showimage=329#

which is also the comments section that clumped 10 comments into 1 comments and lost the hyperlink to those who posted the comments?

Raminia,

Yes, it was helpful, but I've chosen not to apply it. My advice to the client was that it would be best to have all scripting be the 1.5 version for the future.

One thing that I misunderstood in the beginning was that the 10 comments did not group themselves together into one comment. The date on that particular post changed to all zeros according to the client and he clumpled them all together manually before I knew it had happened.

The post was not lost, the date changed to zeros, but the rest was all there. The parenthesis in the comments also changed to squares in the comments.

Thank you for your input.
