I've this in my .php file:

<EXIF_APERTURE>

The output is f 5.6 (example) but the f is from focus and the F is from Diafragma. Doesn't it have to be F 5.6 ?? So I mean by <EXIF_APERTURE> the f needs to be a F?!

what is diafragma? you've lost me on that one. aperture is as standard presented as f/5.6 or similar. what does this have to do with focus?

Sorry, I already know.
But wat is the f and the F ??

I don't understand the question...

i have never seen F but if i had i wouldn't assume there is any difference.

f in f/5.6 and the like is what is called a focal ratio:

ratio of the focal length of a lens or lens system to the effective diameter of its aperture

But is 'focal distance' the same as 'diaphragm'. They are both indicated with a 'f' isn't it?

i've never really seen focal length abbreviate to 'f'. i can see why that would be confusing but generally f is a prefix to an aperture value. ie, f-stop. as far as i'm aware F isn't generally considered as an abbreviation for focal length.

focal distance is not the same as the size of the aperture...lowercase f is common for the size of the aperture, f5.6 or f/5.6

f is a common abbreviation for focal lenth in scientific use, ive never seen it used in photography though, usually in exif or aperture scaling its Aperture: f5.6 or f/5.6 etc

focal distance is the distance from a lens to its focus, controlling compressiona dn the depth of the focal plane, not something that can be measured and stored in the exif.

Just like Will wrote: f in photography by standard is meaned as aperture and in optics it means distance from lens to focal point. There is no other common use of letter f (uppercase or lowercase).
