Comments & Catergorys Not Working

About a month ago I was having trouble with new posts being given a the same index.php?=showimage0 tag. (http://forum.pixelpost.org/showthread.php?t=4278)

This was resolved through this forum. After resolving this issue I thought all was well until I came to add a new catergory through the admin. It just wont add it. I then also noticed it is not possible to leave comments. Both of these functions were working before I resolved the previous problem.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be really appreciated ;-)

I have posted a fresh install of pp here http://www.swolen.jasondale.com and everything works fine...

So:
1) make backup of DB and files.
2) try to set up fresh install of PP
3) restore DB if all works fine or additionally also files if not everything is fine

I forgot to mention I get the following message when adding a catagory

"Column 'id' cannot be null"

You can fill in the comment box but when you submit it it will not be displayed and it cannot be seen within the admin.

I will try and re-install tonight ..

It can be problem with mixed PP files. Please check if you have all files from same release.

Before going through the hassle of rebuilding the whole install I compared the each of the db tables against a fresh install db. I noticed that some of the tables on my install did not have auto advance set to on. When I compared the same tables on a fresh install they were ALL set to on. This was the cause of the original problem on the field that controls or issues the post file names. I have no idea how I managed to damage the db in this way but I am really glad I finally found the problem. Thanks again Geos for taking the time to help out.
