I have received email notifications until today.

Today I just received my first wave of spam in the comments section. However, I did not received email notifications of the spam or of real comments today. I went in and manually removed each message and I have now installed the Akismet Anti SPAM AddOn/Hack in hopes to end the spam.

I have left a 'dummy' comment on my site to see if I would receive email notification and I didn't. My email is through "Yahoo!" if that gives anymore information.

SEND EMAIL ON COMMENT
Send notification email on comments? YES
use HTML notification emails? YES

Does anyone have any ideas?

Did Yahoo! automatically flag the comment notificaton of the spam as spam?

No, it didn't. I used to get the comment notifications until I received all the spam, so Yahoo! evidently was OK with the comment notifications.

UPDATE: For some reason its started working again. Why it wasn't, I'll never know.

Server could have had email issues with php or something, ask your host maybe.

I have this same problem right now. It has happened a few times in the past. I'm hoping it's a temp thing with Eleven2. Or is there any reason Pixelpost would stop sending emails. No spam in my case.

well, there is nothing in PP to stop sending comment emails if the option for that is activated in the admin section

I assume there are some general mail problems etc. outside of PP, but I cannot proof that..

I think your hosting server required email authentication (phpmailer)

i am having the same problem and i am still looking for hack to include smtp authentication to PixelPost.

Hi Connie,
any idea where can i include the smtp authentication code?
Thanks.

Ask your hoster about this issue. Pixelpost doesnt use SMTP protocol for emails it uses standard PHP function called mail() which is based on server/account configuration.

I had this problem for a long time too. I used to get the emails, and then they stopped coming.

I recently cleaned and repaired all the tables in the mySQL database with myphpAdmin, and I've started getting the emails again. I'm not sure if this is coincidence, but you may want to check it out.
