View Full Version : new to all this...
I am new to all this and I have pixelpost working but now want to do some minor templet changes (not real savy with all this html stuff)...I want to add a name and logo, and thumbnails. I have the basic templets and have been looking for one like the one below. I really like this site layout and wonder how I can get mine to look similar...

With lots and lots of tweaking to the simple template, you may be able to get something that looks somewhat like that site, but...that site wasn't built with PixelPost and getting an exact replica will be near impossible.
How do I change links, info, add logo and possible 3 thumbnails to the front page...is there an add on that will do this or do I have to figure out the html...if so what file do I edit to get this info to insert into the templets?

Gettic replica is possible. The best way is to write an email to template owner asking him about making from it official (or less official) template release.

to make custom edits, there isn't a addon, you have to do it manually b editing the template files. These are: image_template.html (for the pages where your images are displayed), browse_template.html (for your archive/browse page), about_template.html (for your about page), and comment_template.html (for your comment popup, if you are using comment popups).
thanks for your help, is pixel post the best free software for posting photos...in your opinion? I was with wordpress but felt it was more of a blogger that a photo gallery. Also what page would I put the info for the logo and title is I want that to be on all the pages...in wordpress it was the style page but i am not sure here...
This is cool I have figured out haow to change the look like I want it except for 2 things.
1) How do I get the calendar from the top of the main image to the bottom of the page?
2) How can I get say...the last 3 images uploaded to show as thumbnails along the upper top right of my page (above the main image).
If any one can help me to figure out the files I need to change and anything about the code that would be great....

you must set the Calendar-TAG to another position in your template
2) How can I get say...the last 3 images uploaded to show as thumbnails along the upper top right of my page (above the main image).
you can define in admin-section how many thumbnails you want to see in the front page
so define there "3"
then go and place the tag which produces the thumbnail row where you want to have it in your main template
you might look into one special folder : /doc
there you might read the Pixelpost-tag-list
all tags which you can use are explained and listed there
good luck!
