I am seeing more titles done with the subtle reflection. Am I correct to think this is an Apple inspired technique. It adds a dimension to web-pages that they usually do not have. You may want to ponder whether it makes the other elements seem more flat in comparison, it may not be a problem, just something to think about.

I have always been a fan of photos with white borders. Online I feel it emphasizes the image as being a photo. One of the things I would like to add to my site is a border that gives the full frame effect of a printed image (that not perfect black line).

There is a lot of space around the image. Reducing the space between the title and the image might make it easier for visitors with small monitors to see the whole image at once.

The choice to reverse values between the image and text is interesting. I think black text on white background is easier for me to read. Linear gradients might be fun to look into.

I think it is a great start. The photo is excellent as well... I agree with the last poster, put up some more images.
