Hi I installed pixelpost from my home PC last night posted a few test photos and so far all looks good.

http://www.nigelcampbell.net

I thought that I would log in and make more changes from my laptop at work and got the following message:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/nigelweb/public_html/includes/create_tables.php:38) in /home/nigelweb/public_html/admin/install.php on line 44

What does this mean? - do I have to start again as I want to be able to upload from the work laptop due to travel commitments??

it could mean there are extra characters in your pixelpost.php file, or it was not saved in a standard text editor and has some weird characters.

it also could mean that there is some issues between your server, not many people host their photoblog from their computer at home

its not a dangerous error though...

http://forum.pixelpost.org/showthread.php?t=390 was from a user with the same error i think

did you save your pixelpost.php etc. in UTF-8-format?

if yes, did you save it "UTF-8 without BOM"?
If not, that's the problem, because any character sent before the header brings these errors and that is exactly the case when you save UTF-8-files with BOM

Actually I just edited it in notepad and then hit save.

I rectified the problem by deleting everything from my server - reinstalling from my laptop - and deleting and recreating the SQL database on my server.

My site is not hosted from home, the /home/ directory seems to be a quirk of my webhost.

Anyway, it works now. I have to say that so far I am really impressed at how well Pixelpost works. My congratulations to all concerned with its development.

Nigel,

thanks for the compliment!

I hope that you can now forget the first problems and enjoy showing photos in your PP!
