The admin menu on my website (http://www.thefunkeye.com) lists the site url as http://www.thefunkeye.com/cgi-system .
Because of that the links sent out in an email come out invalid. Im afraid to change it to http://www.thefunkeye.com/ because that was one of the changes i made last time before thesite went haywire the last time i installed it a week ago. I had to reinstall the whole thing.
so what should the correct site url be?

the correct URL should be where the index.php of Pixelpost sits
if you installed PP into the folder /cgi-bin than this folder will be the URL of Pixelpost .. very transparent
you do not tell us which version you use and what is your server configuration, but it seems to me that you like to play around, is that correct?
to move PP from one folder to another at the same server is not really a problem
but you must be carefull... and understand the basics...
/cgi-bin is a "historic" folder, in far old Internet times (yes, I lived that time!) that was the only folder where execution of scripts usually was allowed
no place for content at all
so move to another folder and if you have questions here, give us the information from admin/general info!

index.php is stored in the root http://www.thefunkeye.com
as a matter of fact i dont have a cgi-bin folder and strangely i dont have a cgi-system folder as well. but the current url with http://www.thefunkeye.com/cgi-system works fine.
im not looking to move around anything as the files will remain in root itself. It's just the setting in the pixel post configuration im worried about.
im using pixelpost version 1.5 final

if it's so, it is the result of the serverconfiguration, done by your hoster
if it works well, let it like it is... never touch a running system, even if it is very uncommon...

it works fine as far as the website is concerned. but when i recieve an email about a comment , the link included in the email is http://www.thefunkeye.com/cgi-system?showimage=2
which is obviously wrong and even the link to the thumbnail is wrong. i tihnk http://www.thefunkeye.com/ should be fine as the site url in the admin menu, but im still not a 100% sure
Did you put trailing slash to the URL?? If not then do it!!
