I decided to delete all my former pics and start fresh. I am trying to upload an image and everytime I do, the pixels are all messed up. My settings are for 450 pixels so the imes I am trying are resized to 450 pixels. still it isn't working I have tried changing templates too. this is frustrating considering I had images on there before and it all worked perfectly.

without any URL etc. we cannot do anything except listening to your sorrow ;=(
how are you uploading? Using a webftp or a FTP?
ASCII or Binary??
well, no other ideas in my crystal ball ;=)

It would be nice if you could provide a sample or a link for us to work with.
You deleted all the images and decided to upload new ones. You claim the settings are 450 pixels, I suspect these are the thumbnails?
The width and height of the thumbnail are the only things you can set at the adminpanel. The height and width of the uploaded picture are also the settings for display.
If the pixels are all messed up it might be a case of JPEG compression. Please change the value in the options, thumbnails settings to a higher value.
[I've to type faster :P]

Ok I think I am on to something. I have an addon called auto resize and it is set to 450 px. jpg compression rate is empty.
I assume that when an image is uploaded, it is automatically directed to the thumbs folder and the large one to image folder..That the program resizes the original image to a thumbnail size..isn't that what happens? Why did all my other pics work when I uploaded them?
EDIT NOTE....I turned off the addon and it is working now..
BTW...why am I assigned the dubious name..forum loafer..I feel shame now..

you must add your URL to your signature, if you whish so!
And even that will not help, there are people who care for more than 20 domains ;=)
well, if I look at your side, you made something terrible wrong with image processing.. did you try to resize a thumbnail to original size????
did you mix thumbnail with original photo?
Try the following: go to admin/images
re-upload the image
check it out!

Connie thanks for your help.
It isn't the resizing of the pics. I have been doing that for 6 years now. :-)
You'll notice on my previous post which i edited just as you were posting, It was the add on I had turned on in admin..sigh, sometimes it is the strangest thing..don't know why the add on worked for previous pics i was using..oh well...cheers

Ah, this Addon I never tested, but I think any manual resizing is better than automatic things..
especially if you want to show your photos...
if you want to resize in good quality, but in batch, use Irfanview, that brings good results!
It's free

jpg compression rate is empty.
Please enter a value like 90 in your jpg compression rate. This will probably fix it.
