View Full Version : How to remove the 'photoblog' from my blog's subtitle in RSS feeds?

I'm using the Sage extension for Mozilla Firefox for my RSS feeds, and I regularly check my own blogs' RSS to make sure they work. I noticed that my (art) blogs (which both use pixelpost) have subtitles which end in 'photoblog' (ex. "Feanne's Daily Drawings photoblog"). How do I change this in Pixelpost? Under Options I can only change the part before 'photoblog', which seems to be added by default to the blog title?

Here's a screenshot:

*edit* I'm just putting in these keywords in an effort to help other users find this post in the future: blog feed, custom/change blog description in feed

look for the section "RSS 2.0 FEED" in index.php
<description>$pixelpost_site_title photoblog</description>

I have just found this line, but I don't know if it's right, I did not test it, I think it's right:p

modify the core is always dangerous:rolleyes:

IT WORKS!! Thanks so much jdleung! :) I even customized it to describe my blog. I guess someone should write an addon or something for this. :)

in the future, i hope that pixelpost will have these fields managed through the admin, as 2007 is supposed to be the year of rss.

we should add this the todo-list and configure it as a language-variable..

An alternative to this would be to use something like FeedBurner (http://www.feedburner.com/), which lets you change your title/description.

Then you don't have to hack your scripts nor wait until the feature is implemented.
