View Full Version : resize to window size and pre-load?

Are there addons or settings to resize photos according to the size of a visitors browser window? It can just send the highest res version, but have the browser scale it down as needed. This is how picasa web albums works and it's really nice. It eliminates the whole guesswork of what size photos to have, people with small screens don't have to scroll and those with big screens can see better resolution.
Similarly picasa web albums will download the "next" image behind the scenes, so it just pops up when you hit next.
It is possible and right now officially there is no such addon about I know there it is :P
If you feel enough strong to code it then it will be really cool to see something like that.

If you are curious... the Lightbox Fullsize addon has this behavior (but only after they opt to view it in lightbox mode, and assuming your files are large enough to stretch to fill the browser). Maybe there's a tricksie way to use lightbox as the "initial impression" and then they click out of it to see all the meta and comments?

Slightbox Extension fon JonDesign ís SmoothGallery is a script that gives SmoothGallery the ability to show images in a lightbox. In addition to being an extension to SmoothGallery it is also a full blown lightbox that you can use in for you images independently of SmoothGallery. You can also use the Lightbox feature separately of SmoothGallery!
Has anyone integrated pixelpost with smoothgallery/
