how to add images to database without posting?

I have searched the forum and I didn't find anything relating to this. I would like to add images to my database but not post them. What would the best way to do this be. I have toyed with the idea of just posting them waaayyyy in the future, but I can see that coming back and biting me somehow.

The reason fr doing this is I would like to be able to set up a link from my image_template on various images that will take the viewer to other 'workups' of the same image. I wouldn't necessarily want to show the other workups on the main blog, but would like to link to them using tags to show workflow.

copy_folder addon, correct? Sometimes you can search a forum for half an hour and find nothing, then poke around on an unrelated issue and boom! There is the anwser. I never would have thought to look there.

try GeoS Show Category ADDON, you can select which category to show or hide.
