There are symbols, squares and some letters at the top of the page. How can I get rid of them. They also are seen in the admin addon panel.

I opened in Firefox and IE. IE had "2RTEXT2RTEXT" above the calendar. Firefox had the squares mixed in with those letters.

Where can I edit out that junk. Maybe it's where links to "about" and other things go.

you must check the encoding which you use in your browser. If you don't have "automatic" activated and the template has the codepage WEST-EUROPEAN (for example) but your browser is using cyrillic, then you will get strange characters :cry:

with the new version, we will have only UNICODE everywhere...

check the encoding, I am sure this is the problem
