I want to start a partly photoblog but also some sort of portfolio or a better term, categorizing of events. At the moment i am mainly a party photographer and make 100+ pictures per evening. Most people of course lookup there pictures the next few days.

Since a photoblog only has one 1 photo a page, i would like also to have a link per event so people can just browse trough those pictures.

Would be cool to have:

(1) A normal photoblog with (the coolest picture of the batch) and have a link to the other pictures of this event.
(2) The ability to sum up all events and browse by event title / venue / and/or date.

Is this possible with pixelpost, or is a combination of programs better? Pixelpost for the photoblog & coppermine / gallery2 (Ugh) for the rest?

Thanks for the advice!

You can use the categories for the events and have a look at the category addons for extended features (IE GeoS' show categories addon adn Ramins Page-By-Page-Archive for category and month)

Jeroen,

I get the feeling that a gallery program will fit better than a photoblog...
as soon as you start your project, the question will arise whether users can login, how to integrate a paying system, how to realise "private sections" and public sections

If you go on with a gallery, I am sure you will find the way to also present the "photo of the night" there

I am sure it will be easier to arrange everything with one program and that for sure will not be PP...
give it a try, why not, but my feeling says you better concentrate on a gallery program with all options in one...

tags will be a future feature - you could probably just tag photos with an event name.
