What's new in pp 1.6

I have read on 2 posts that the pp teams are working on the new pp1.6. I would like to know when it's goinf to be available. And also what new feature will be add to the new pp.

Well if you look around you can see both GeoS and my site are running on the latest SVN version. And it really DOES take amazing pictures for you.

And we are not on the hush hush.. you could say we need some help turning all the modifications in a nice change log. With about 113 revisions up to date it's kinda hard to remember all the stuff we added, changed and fixed. :P

And since we still are discovering small errors which need fixing we are not ready to release our child to the sharks :D

Nah, we tried but somehow we messed up the declaration of the world_peace function. We still working on it but it seems global declaration of the variable peace might have something to do with it.

I guess it is necessary to code a complete API for world_peace which handles the class "peace" depending on country, language and religion chosen.
Go on with that :-)

yes yes I know, you can't tell when the new version is coming out. But when you where me and you had to make a complete redesign of your blog: would you do it now with 1.5 or would you wait, let's say another 2-3 weeks? ;)

I have holidays and hopefully I manage to get some free time to work over my crappy photoblog. I don't like the design and I'm gonna build an entire new page (with tutorials and so on), everything will be transfered on a new server and so on and so the photoblog and all it's addons will also receive an update. Thats why I'm asking...

template wise there will be not much changes. We have some new tags, like a tag cloud (see either my page or GeoS's page).

But the rest remains the same. You could use 1.5 to develop the new template cause all templates are forward compatible. ;)

great, thanks for the info. Are there any other "big" features like tagcloud in the new release? Just to get an idea what the new version will look like. (just the big ones...)

alternative language support and tag cloud are the most visible changes.

Other changes are mostly in the adminpanel. (e.g. more options)
