Hello,
on my photoblog http://www.aufildesjours.info the rss is not working and I don't understand why.
In the URL it always show www.aufildesjours.info/pixelpost/ and the rest of the url. I think it comes from here, but I can't find the solution.
Thanks in advance,
Pierre

In the options menu, change your site URL from
www.aufildesjours.info/pixelpost/
to
http://www.aufildesjours.info/

Sometimes the easy things are not so obvious ;)

you're right. Easy things are sometimes SO obvious that we don't see them :-)
By the way, I have another problem in the "archive" link : http://www.aufildesjours.info/index.php?x=browse&pagenum=1
When you clic on 1, 2 or 3 the links are ok like this :
http://www.aufildesjours.info/index.php?x=browse&category=&pagenum=1
but when you clik on "suivant" or "precedent" (next and back in French) the link doesn't work anymore because a 0 comes in the URL, like this one :
http://www.aufildesjours.info/index.php?x=browse&category=0&pagenum=2
Do you know what the problem is ?
Thanks a lot in advance.

It only fails for the Touts category. Everything else is ok.
I am not familair with the addon, I only have 5 images ;)
If I have more time later i will look into it.

Do you know what the problem is ?
It is a small bug in paged_archive addon which comes with Pixelpost.
Have a look here in the forum, there is an update available

If you replaced pixelpost.php you need to edit that file and re-enter your database information.

It is strange, because there is no pixelpost.php in the new version in pixelpost.zip so normally I did not change anything in pixelpost.php. Am I right in saying that ?
In my pixelpost.php nothing seems to have been changed.
I'm lost

in the folder includes/pixelpost.php
The error on your website is saying that the database name 'replace_me', can not be found. This is definitely an issue with the pixelpost.php file in the includes directory!

dwilkinsjr and austriaka, many many thanks for your help. I finally found recovered all my work and my problem with the archive page is over. I really thaught I just had to begin everything from the begining. OUCHHHHH. I was really down for a few minutes. :)
My last question is : what is the best way to make a back up of my work once online ?
create for example a "backup" folder in my computer and upload all my site into it regularely ? or just backup some important folders and which ones ?
After, I'leave you alone with my beginners' question. I promise :)
Again, thanks a lot.

It's a personal preference really.
You can backup all your files if you wish but all you really need for a quick restore are:
images folder
thumbnails folder
database
template folder
addons required for your template
Obviously, the images folder and database are the most important. The thumbnails aren't as important as they can be regenerated from your backed up images.
The templates and addons would be required to get your site back to its original state before the data-loss.
For me, I do a monthly backup of modified files on my server and a weekly backup of my database if the data has changed.

For me, I do a monthly backup of modified files on my server and a weekly backup of my database if the data has changed.
My provider makes backups every night and stores them for one year I guess. If there should be any data loss on the server, it costs me a phone call to get it restored at any date I would like.
So I don't backup my server files.
Of course I have all necessary files and a working database installation stored on my local PC and they are backupped every time I shut down.

ok, thanks. I will then make as often as possible a backup of all.
I thaught this was my last question, but I have another one, concerning the possibilities of posting images, which are !
post image now
post image 24 hours after the last one
use data exif
and post at a precise date (day, month, year...)
I would like to use the last one, but each time I try to post in the future (for next day for example) it is automatically published without waiting the day after.
I don't know if my explanation is understandable, but if you have the solution, it would be nice ;)

It looks published because you are still logged in as an admin. logout of the admin panel and tell me if you see your photo.
