Pixelpost 1.4 users who used my plugin in wordpress OR the addon I made to show the latest thumb on the other pages of the website be aware:
1- since the location of the pixelpost.php file is changed the addon/plugin won't work. you need to simply change the path where points to admin/pixelpost.php in the code I provide somewhere like this
// save the address of the pixelpost database settings
$pixelpost_settings_address = $PixelPost_local_address ."admin/pixelpost.php";
change it to
// save the address of the pixelpost database settings
$pixelpost_settings_address = $PixelPost_local_address ."includes/pixelpost.php";
2- wordpress users who use the first release of the plugin/addon (version 0.1) may findout that their weblog won't show up. don't panic! just download the latest version of the plugin for wordpress and upload it using FTP and every thing's is fine. (if you use the old addon please upgrade to the plugin specially desinged for wordpress).

hi,
many bloggers don't use Wordpress or similar softwares, but rely on blog-engines provided by free-services, e.g. http://www.motime.com/ , http://www.blogger.com/ and so on.
for those people (like me!) it would be very useful to have this feature without php code ... :roll: as we can modify just the html code in the template.
how can I add some html code into my personal blog template to show my last pixelpost thumbnail?
e.g. something like this:
<a href="www.my_photoblog.com">
<img src="www.my_photoblog.com/index.php?lastthumb">
</a>
hope I explained! :)

uhm.... maybe it will be too slow to load and execute the index.php in order to give back just ONE thumbnail...
maybe it would be sufficent a little command which just copies the last created thumbnail to a fixed address, e.g. thumbs/lastthumb.jpg
so the simple html code would be:
<a href="www.my_photoblog.com">
<img src="www.my_photoblog.com/thumbs/lastthumb.jpg">
</a>

at about line 480 and also 489. Replace this line with these three lines
$latestthumb = $thumbnail;

copy("../thumbnails/thumb_".$latestthumb,"../thumbnails/last_thumb.jpg");
then you can use a link to latest thumb as
http://www.my_photoblog.com/thumbs/last_thumb.jpg
good luck!

I want to add a blog to my pixelpost site...probably going to set it up as a subdomain (e.g., www.blog.my_site.com). If I used WordPress would I need to set up a separate SQL db for it, or could I use the same one that pixelpost uses?
I already have another PHP blog (running TXP), so between that and pixelpost I'm using both of my alloted SQL servers. If the answer to the above question is "separate," then I guess I'll need to upgrade my hosting plan to one with more db space.

you can do it with the same db but it is not clean.
you need the set the prefix of the tables. WP usually sets wp_ prefix for tables in config.php and PP usually uses pixelpost_ for prefix in pixelpost.php file.
I did the same on my local host.

I installed this plug-in and I thought it was working fine because I immediately saw the thumbnail of my latest photoblog image in my wordpress weblog. But when I added a new image to my photoblog, the thumbnail image in my weblog got stuck with the previous one.
To deactivate the plugin, I followed Raminia's instructions to first delete the <?php show_latest_pixelpost_thumbnail(); ?> function call in my weblog. Then deactivate the plugin from the admin menu. Surprisingly, I could not deactivate it. It gives out an error message saying:
"Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers, for this feature to work."
I deleted the plug-in through FTP and it disappeared from the plug-in list. But when I copied it again and as soon as I refreshed the plug-in page, the latest_pblog plugin is already activated.
I would love to have this plugin running in my weblog. Can anyone help me?
My weblog is at http://www.renriquez.com/wordpress/
My fotolog is at http://www.renriquez.com/pp/
By the way, I'm using Wordpress 1.5 and Pixelpost 1.4.1
Thanks!

I've upgraded to WP 1.5.1.2 but my problem still persists with using this addon. The problem I'm having is, the supposedly "latest" Pixelpost thumbnail being shown on my WP journal is actually not the latest one.
I'm activitating the addon and the <?php show_latest_pixelpost_thumbnail(); ?> function for now so that you guys can take a look at the problem I'm talking about. You can check it out at http://www.renriquez.com/wordpress/ .
I think I've followed the installation instructions to a T that's why I'm confused why I'm experiencing this.
I hope someone can help me.
Much thanks!

check GMT offset.

I had already set my GMT offset correctly even before both in WordPress and in PixelPost. Since I'm the in Philippines, I'm using GMT +8:00.
Any other leads? The thumbnail is still stuck in my previous post.

I have the same problem as Rene - running WP 1.5.1.2 with PP 1.4, GMT offsets are the the same for both sites and the image does not update.

Yes! I forgot to assign the GMT offset in the plugin!
I've corrected this. please chekcout

raminia,
in 1.4.2 version, this portion of code is different and I don't know how to safely modify it... could you tell me what modification should I apply to the new admin/index.php file? :)
