Connecting to Host

I have recently downloaded 1.6.0 and set up a hosting account with Eleven2.

Sorry for the really dumb question (although my web designer husband had a look at it too) but I can't connect!

I'm using Filezilla as my ftp program (and I've tested using Dreamweaver) and it comes up with "connecting to host" then "error with connection".

I am right at the beginning of setting this whole thing up and already I'm stuck! Have I done something wrong or should I be directing my question to Eleven2?

So basically what you're saying is that you can't connect by using the FTP data supplied by your host?

I suggest contacting Eleven2, because we can't help you with hosting problems.

I thought so but wanted to ask anyway to be sure.
All I need to do is connect!!!

It turns out I have to change some firewall settings on my laptop to receive ftp info from the host (eleven2.com) as I can connect using my husband's pc.

I have set up a new port for filezilla to use. I have allowed access privileges to filezilla through the windows firewall but I still can't connect.

Is there any little trick I have missed?
