I've searched the forums for something on this topic, but haven't found anything, so I'm hoping someone can help.

I've just upgraded to 1.6 and when I log in to my admin/install.php via the website's admin panel as instructed, I get this message:

"404 Not Found
The resource requested could not be found on this server!
Powered By LiteSpeed Web Server
Lite Speed Technologies is not responsible for administration and contents of this web site!"

My site seemed to have been hacked yesterday (arabic text took over my site and now I only get a 404 error) (which is my reason for upgrading today) and the nice folks at Eleven2 have been a big help, but I'm wondering if I've overlooked something I'm supposed to be doing with the upgrade?

Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated! I'm more than a little stressed out now! :-)

Thanks in advance.
Alice

First, try re-uploading all of the pixelpost v1.6 files.

Also, a link to your site would be helpful.

Sorry, I forgot the link to my site:

www.mylifeinfocus.net

I've checked to make sure I've transferred everything from the upgrade to the server and it all seems to be okay.

I thought it might be one of the addons causing problems, which I've heard about here on the forums, but how would I go about disabling one? Namely the Fancyarchive I heard is problematic, but I don't see that in my folders at all, so I assume that's not the problem.

Thanks!
A.

I found a problem I'd accidentally copied the admin folder twice (once inside itself). I removed the duplicate and now I can get to the admin page with no problem. It gave me the "upgrade" button and now I'm at the main admin page where I can load images, view all my previously existing comments, images, etc. WOO HOO! PROGRESS! :-)

But when I go to my main homepage (www.mylifeinfocus.net) I'm still getting a 404.

Is the "paged archive" what everyone is referring to as "fancy archive"? Or is this something different?

Or I've also heard the EXIF addon can cause problems?

Thanks!

First off, your images & thumbnails folders currently have some of the "hacked" content still in them.

Second, delete the index.php file and re-upload the one from the Pixelpost release. Make sure the permission for that file is set to 755.

See if that makes a difference.

I didn't reinstall the images or thumbs folders from the 1.6 upgrade because I don't want all my 300+ images to disappear. 18 months worth of work would be lost. I've looked at all the files in each folder and they all seem to be okay.

How do I set permissions? I don't see that option within the Properties right-click option when I right-click on a folder....

It all seemed to work okay right after I posted to the forum last night. So it all seems okay I think. Thanks everyone for your help.
