View Full Version : EXIF not working

I have tried with both the "standard" exif-tags (included in the 1.6.0 release simple template) but those show nothing, no information at all. I have also tried something I read in another post here, namely:

<LANG_CAPTURE_DATE>
<LANG_CAMERA_MODEL>
<LANG_EXPOSURE_TIME>
<LANG_APERTURE>
<LANG_FOCAL_LENGTH>
<LANG_ISO>

but that only gave me "Camera:" and then a blank space, followed by "Exposure:" and dito, a blank space, and so on. My guess is the exif data is destroyed in my photos.

I use Photoshop / Lightroom to import/export my photos, and the "Save For Web" command in Photoshop when I'm done. I read somewhere that the Save For Web command ruins exif data, so I tried with only "Save As". But then I end up with files in the 400-500k vicinity, and that's just not acceptable.

How do I solve this? Anyone who has had a similar issue?

The Save for web command in Photoshop does indeed strip the EXIF data from your pictures. Try just doing a Save as. If you are worried about large file sizes, you could try lowering the Resolution to 75 or so in the Image Size dialog box in Photoshop...

I agree what codepoit is saying.

OK, I guess most ppl have at least DSL nowadays, big files shouldn't really be a problem anymore. I'm gonna stick with the "Save As"-solution. Thanks!

Use import/export exif data applications.
