Can you give me temporary access to the adminpanel of your blog? If you can, please PM or mail me with the details. I'll have a look at it tomorrow then.

I still find this very odd because I cannot replicate the problem. I'm not saying you're not having this problem, you obviously do, but I can't seem to get where it is coming from.

Yes that's why it's strange !!
I'll do a new blog (for testing) and no problem...

So you installed a new blog and all works fine? In that case something isn't right in the database. I was wondering if you could provide me with access to PHPMyAdmin to check it out.

Hey, I get exactly the same behaviour!
Just upgraded from 1.5 to 1.6, and new comments are emailed to me but not visible on my blog immediately.
In admin, they're highlighted pink... but if I click "Moderation Queue" they don't show up. Nor do they show up in "Published".
So when viewing all comments, I have to check the checkbox and manually publish the comment, despite having my settings to "publish instantly".
Hope you can get to the bottom of this!

Comments that look "pink" in your admin panel are AKISMET marked comments.
For whatever reasone, AKISMET has marked that comment as SPAM.

Strange thing is that the comments on hold on Personne's blog are yellow (e.g. default moderation queue comments)

But my pink highlighted comments don't show up when I click "Askimet SPAM"...!? They only appear in the "all comments" view.

Sorry I'm busy !
Schonhose, I have remove the Akismet addon.
Would you the phpadmin access ?
Dennis

Well, after some debugging and the kind access to FTP and PHPMyAdmin by Personne I've found the problem.
While upgrading the index.php in the root was left out. So you would have the old functions, so comments were saved, but not the new stuff. (e.g. publish instantly, language switch, you name it).
I've replaced the 1.5 version index with the 1.60 version and now it works as expected. This also explains why a fresh install did work. :D
Problem solved, everybody happy.

Not so fast....
I tried to reupload the index.php file, but I still have the same problem. Comments are marked as yellow, and show up under All comments, but not in the moderation queue.
This is just one of my problems after upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6.

Brettville, the reason that uploading the index.php file worked is that Personne had missed this file when upgrading. It's possible you missed a different file which would cause similar behavior. The best thing to do would be to completely reupload all of the PP files to make sure you have the latest version.

This would be my first suggestion also.

Ok, reuploaded all the files, but I still have the same problem, plus a brand new one. It's nothing big, just really annoying, and I have no idea what's wrong.
Comments are still not being published automatically, and now I also get an error message every time I submit a comment, saying:
"Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /hsphere/local/home/user/www2.trondheimdailyphoto.com/includes/pixelpost.php:1) in /hsphere/local/home/user/www2.trondheimdailyphoto.com/comment.php on line 28"
Any ideas as to where I might find the cause of this error?
I have also tried a fresh install on a different server and domain, but I have the exact same problem there (comments are not published automatically).

The template you are using is heavily modified, and looks like it might be using quite a few addons. Switch to either the Simple or the Horizon template that comes with the PP1.6 and test it. If you're still getting the same errors, disable or remove all of the addons except the few that come as part of PP. Essentially, you want to test a completely fresh install without any modifications.
Probably when you was editing some *.php file you put some spaces, chars or other special chars before <?php string. It can be i.e. /includes/pixelpost.php file or any other youve edited.
