how do i post a simple graphic onto my template page

hi guys..many thanks for all the posts and this wiki...i am finally getting to learn the strings of pixelpost....i would really appreciate if somebody could tell me how to put up simple garpahics on to my templates...like id like to change my websites name which comes written in the right corner with a small logo...and similiarly add some graphics with roll on effects in the about page....just to perk it up a bit...
