Hi guys,
this is my first post here. I use Pixelpost for nearly a week and I must say I'm very happy about it! You made really a great job, thank you very much!
I consider it very easy to use both in administration tools and in personalisation; only a doubt remains: in the options page I found the possibility to "Send notification email on comments?": I activated this option, but I'm not able to find where I've to write the email address (the admin-email seems to be not enough) and how it works. Can you help me? Thank you.

You can provide an administrator email address. This is used for password recovery as well as sending an email when a new comment has been posted on the blog. So, an email is only send to the admin.

Thank you Dennis. I made so, filling the "admin-email" form with a valid address, but it doesn't work, in fact no comment arrives. What appens?
Thanks.

Your server have SMTP activated to send mail?

Perhaps pointing out the obvious: you need to get a comment on your blog before an email is send that you have a comment.

Trauko: yes, the SMTP is activated.
Dennis: obviously!!! I received comments for other people and to try I sent some comments by myself, but no email for me arrived.
And the mail address is written corrrectly.
Thanks

Try looking in your spam box.

Thank you for your interest... and for your comment too! However, I thought the problem was here, but no email arrives after my approval of the comments.
I ask: do I need some particular addon to make working the email notification, or it's necessary some instruction in web page which unintentionally I deleted?

nope, it should work out of the box.

That's not quite correct. PixelPost will send the email notification for a new comment whether comments are set to publish immediately or be held for moderation.
You do not have to approve the comment first in order for the email to be sent - would defeat the purpose of having email notifications for new comments if that were the case, since you would already know about them. ;)

I'm also using Gmail and since two days ago haven't been able to receive any comments notification from my Pixelpost installation (http://www.archerfoto.com). I've been receiving comments notification for over a year and suddenly I'm not receiving them anymore.
Looking forward to seeing if anyone else has this problem and especially if anyone has a solution.

I also use a Gmail account for my admin email. I'm not having this problem at the moment (crossing fingers), but it sounds almost as if it's a problem with Gmail.
You might try setting the admin email to a non-Gmail addy for a day and see if you start receiving your notifications again. If you do, then the problem is Gmail. If you don't, then the problem could be with your webhost possibly having changed something in the server configuration.
Try to check SPAM folder to be sure about GMAIL doesnt store there your comment notifi.
PS It also depends from PHPs mail() function configuration at your server.

I have checked the SPAM folder in Gmail and the comment notifications are not there. I also tried changing the email address in my pixelpost admin area to a non-gmail account. Still not getting any comment notifications.
Now I've opened a ticket with my webhost and mentioned GeoS+'s note about the PHPs mail() function config ... I'll let you all know what happens, since it seems like I'm not the only one with this problem.

Just to finish up this problem from my side in any case (don't know if the OP got his or her problem solved yet) -
It was some kind of change or fix needed at my webhost. They didn't say what they did, but said they did something. When I tested it, I found that comment notification works as usual now. So it wasn't a problem with Gmail or with Pixelpost.

I don't know. I changed my email using a no-gmail one, I looked in spam folder and all what you suggested but... comments don't arrive!
The mistery becomes always more dense!

Even though your server has SMTP activated, your webhost may not have the PHP mail() function configured properly. Wouldn't hurt to drop a support ticket in with them and have them check things on their end too. Could end up being they just need to tweak something to get it working.
