Hi,

My photoblog just suddenly disappeared. I was still able to view it last night and it displayed perfectly, but this morning, the first error that I got was:

PIXELPOST NOT YET INSTALLED

I went to my FTP server and checked if someone was able to hack into my files and delete everything, but surprisingly, everything is still there, including everything that I have posted in my photoblog before.

I tried some steps to fix it including installing pixelpost again since it said that was the problem...it did install but the old pictures that I've posted including comments and picture info are gone!!! :-( After installing a new pixelpost, I tried to upload a new image, and it did, but when I viewed my site, another error appeared:

Unknown column 'custom_comments_tpl' in 'field list'

I don't know how in the first place my photoblog was working the other night and then the next morning its gone, and even more strange is that nothing seemed changed from my webhost including uploaded photos and .php configurations.

Can anyone help me, please? This is my last resort of fixing my photoblog.

Thank you so much in advance.

Something is wrong with your database.

Make sure your host name / username / password / database name has not changed in any way. Also, make sure your prefix in pixelpost.php matches the prefix in your database.

Hi,

I just checked my database, like you said, and everything is ok in that part. All the hostname, username, password, and database name is still configured correctly. The prefix in pixelpost.php is still set to default like before ("pixelpost_").

I even ran a database check on my web host's cpanel and it displayed these results:

omnaraya_om.pixelpost_addons OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_banlist OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_catassoc OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_categories OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_comments OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_config OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_pixelpost OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_tags OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_version OK
omnaraya_om.pixelpost_visitors OK

What do you think caused the problem? Should I just install a new pixelpost? I can do that but I have posted quite some pictures already... and for sure comments on the pictures will be gone if I do this right? :-(

It looks as if your database crashed the other night.
Please go into your database and open the table "pixelpost_pixelpost". Is the content still there? Go into the table "comments". Can you still see your old comments?

Probably you have overwritten the Database with your new installation but usually this should not happen.

Best thing in such cases would be to ask your hosting provider for help: they are doing backups of their servers and should be able to upload the original database from the backup. Of course everthing you did since the database crash is lost then.

Good Luck!

Thanks Austriaka.

It seems it's a database problem with my webhost.

I hope they do have backups for my old posts.
