Hi there,

I am getting ready to upload some images to my newley created Pixelpost and wondered what quality of image you guys upload.

I was going to to it this way in photoshop cs3: Unsharp mask, resize to 700px and then save for web and devices at the high jpeg setting.

What setting do you use? Do you go for a higher resolution? Any tips?

Many thanks
Karl

Typically a monitor can't display higher then 92 dpi, some monitors are even limited to 72 dpi.

Exporting an image to support more then 92 dpi is useless for web and saves you a lot of space. Higer dpi values are wanted for printing, but not for online viewing.

I copy the original image in a folder than I open it with photoshop. I reduce the image to 72 dpi, width or height 722 px. I make the adjustments to the colors and then I add the file info (File -> File Info). At last I save it (File -> Save) with quality medium, high or maximum. I want to have a file with max 150-160 kb
I don't use Save for Web. When you do so, you lost the exif data.

Thanks Guiz, that helped a lot. I was going to use Auto Resize Addon (Special Edition) but was unsure just how much of a server load it would take to resize on the fly.

Thanks
