next and previous images only by this catagory?

Hi everyone,

When I'm browsing in a specific catagory with the next and previous links, I only want to see pictures by this specific catagory only. And not all the photographs of all catagories.
Is there a way to adjust that?

I am using GeoS Show Category addon.
But how to avoid that next and previous link appears if there isn't previous or next one? (for first and last picture, i mean)
How to show arrows on the picture instead of hypertext link? (the same of http://blog.piotrgalas.com/)

I found this addon, but am not entirely sure how to go about using it. What tags (and where) do I need to add to my image and browse templates? And do I have to somehow change the urls to the image, or does the addon somehow do this? I've uploaded the addon to my addon directory, but I don't see where it is doing anything. HELP! I would appreciate any assitance.

I looked at the templates included but am still confused. I hate to not be able to get something to work! I'm currently using the Delicious template, which was found here:

There is so much other stuff in the template (scripts, etc) that I'm really clueless as to what to alter in the browse and image templates. If anyone could take a look and try to steer me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

I've tried numerous things to get this addon to work, and am completely unable to figure it out. I've replaced tags in several different templates, and it appears to have no effect at all. I've written to the addon author (who has also replied here) and his only response is to figure it out on my own. Well, I guess I give up. Are there any other addons out there that have the same effect (to browse by category without Pixelpost automatically going into the next category) that are more user-friendly? I'd appreciate any suggestions, or feedback on what I may be doing wrong with Geo's addon. Thanks.

No there is no other Addon for this reason since GeosShowCategory Addon is exactly what you are looking for and hundreds of users managed to make it work.

Tammy, please have a thorough look into the example templates which are provided with the Addon package. Make sure that the Addon is turned ON in the Addons page.
Replace ALL linking tags by those from the GeosShowCategoryAddon, which is as follows:
<IMAGE_NEXT_ID> by <SC_IMAGE_NEXT_ID>
<IMAGE_PREVIOUS_ID> by <SC_IMAGE_PREVIOUS_ID>
<IMAGE_NEXT_TITLE> by <SC_IMAGE_NEXT_TITLE>
<IMAGE_PREVIOUS_TITLE> by <SC_IMAGE_PREVIOUS_TITLE>
...

All tags of GeosShowCategory Addon are explained in the Addon description which you can read at the Addons page (provided that GeosShowCategory Addon is turned on).
If you have understood the use of Template Tags in Pixelpost Templates it should be not so difficult to use or replace the tags.

Perhaps start your blog with the example template and not try to set up another template AND implementing new tags until you are more familiar with Pixelpost.

Geos is a hard working guy (as the most of us) and cannot provide personal support for an Addon which is so well documented as this one.

Im comming on straight right now :)

There are plans to rewrite this addon, to do it in smarter way, more functional, faster, more complex, more ..., but as everything else - I need some free time and its comming time for my master thesis so it wont be so easy in next 5 months.

PS In next release for sure Ill try to put more complex example template files (to show all functions or to give option to taste it).

Does anyone know if there's a simple way to get GeoS Show Category ADDON to abide by PP 1.7's IMAGE DISPLAY ORDER. As it is now it only wants to display in descending order. Am I missing something? I know the addon is listed for 1.6. But maybe...
