Pixelpost v1.7 - Better than Ever

I am pleased to announce the immediate release of Pixelpost v1.7 (FINAL)!

What does this mean to me?

If you currently have a Pixelpost photoblog, you might want to upgrade in order to take advantage of the new super cool features, addons, and latest security measures.

Or if you don't have a photoblog, its never been easer to get started! As our new install assistant basically installs itself!

Just a quick update to let everyone know, we've released a new version 1.7.1 which contains a security fix, so it is highly recommended that you upgrade.

There is a bug with paged_archives addon I think. At least it works wrong when it comes to IN category pages navigation. I mean when you open any category that have more than one page and want to open the second page of THIS category it opens the second page of WHOLE archive. I think it is version mismatch. When I take the paged_archive.php from the RC1 and put it in my addon folder on my server if works well. Hope it will help.

Some 3 weeks ago, I finished translation of lang-czech.php, admin-lang-czech.php and install-lang-czech.php, available here (http://www.pixelpost.org/extend/languages/czech-translation-etina-pro-pixelpost-version-17rc1-or-earlier/). Is it possible to include them in next official release? (1.7.1?)

Eddie, we are pushing towards another language system and we won't include all languages in the package. Instead we will create a language pack and you can download other languages from the Extend section.

I think I found a bug in the paged_archive addon too. When viewing "All" images the page navigation correctly applies the "archive_active_page_number" class to the currently viewed page number. However, when selecting anything other than "All" (any category, month, etc) then this css class is not applied to the navigation.

It is fixed in the 1.7.1 release which is about to be released (due to some SQL injection possibilities).

Hi, first at all - great job, thanks. I already installed 1.71 and it works propper.

But one thing I am still missing, the avaibility to have different header templates, for different languages. I have installed 2 languages, german and english, but when i create a template "header.html" and "header_en.html" it is not working. Did i do something wrong or is it still not implemented?

It is not that important, but i would use the header functionalty. I have 6 templates for each language, for changes i have to touch 12 templates. Would be much comfortable to have.

Since we are planning a new kind of language implementation in future Pixelpost releases I don't think we will change the header and footer behaviour.
These are thought to be used for meta or other HTML head information and for design reasons more than for information content

I can see on the main page of pixelpost that the release date is different of the v 1.7.1 I downloaded prior this date.

What is the difference between the new date release and the one before because the version is still the same. If there any change made to this date released from prior?

We only made changes in the Defensio addon. There were some problems related to the prior version shipped with Pixelpost and not everybody seems to be reading our blog (http://www.pixelpost.org/blog/2008/02/16/defensio-addon-update/). So all the new people now get the correct addon so we (and the guys at Defensio) have to answer less support questions.

Exactly what are the issues that you are referring to when you say "my blog doesn't look right"?

None of the themes are working right, they are all blank pretty much. I am currently using Supaclean.

Sorry, I just checked on IE and it looks pretty much fine...guess something is up with it in FF.

It works great for me. Try clearing your cache in FF, then hit your blog again and see if that clears the issues.
