Error ...Images folder not writable!

Hello im new to blogging....

I did everything i think i need to do to get images up and running such as:


Guessed imagepath: /home/chriskeega/public_html//blog/images/
Configured Imagepath: /images/

Image Directory: OK - Can we write to the directory? YES. Current CHMOD: 0777

Thumbnails Directory: OK - Can we write to the directory? YES. Current CHMOD: 0777

Language Directory: OK

Addons Directory: OK

Includes Directory: OK

Templates Directory: OK




When i try to upload an image i get a "Error ...Images folder not writable!"
in an orange box at the bottom of the page.
I have set my "images" and "thumbnails" to 777

I have uploaded images to my "images" folder using a FTP client but still cant see anything? I can get the admin to create thumbnails aswell



but all i see is this at the correct url:

Coming Soon! Nothing to show. No image to show here!

After you set the folder permissions to 777 you should upload the file through the adminpanel. Uploading by FTP won't insert it into the database.

Yes i have been trying it both ways to no success.

When i try to upload an image using the admin panel i get a "Error ...Images folder not writable!"

Under options, change your configured image path to: ../images/
That should fix it.

tried it a few times and now it just says "Error"

Not

"Error ...Images folder not writable!"

as before.
