View Full Version : New Template: Horus

Horus is a simple template by Scarabaeus, using hidden comments and info javscript. It also contains a hidden 'archive filtering menu' with such things as the categories and pages. All addons (Tag Menu) you need are included in the download and you will need to use the paged archive addon (in the original pixelpost download). Also I would like it if you kept the link in the about page and in the footers though I respect others website design. This is the 1st release so I expect it there may still be a few problems.
I would recommend images to be roughly 800px across at max and thumbnails can be any size, I use 100px by 70px.

Hey,
I tried installing your template. Installed perfectly. But i cannot see the browse option on the main page. Any idea why?

The template uses the paged archive addon, make sure you have that installed and on. If it is not that I'll check the coding.

Could I have a link to your site to see the source and I'll try to sort it out?

Tried to find the "Template Selector" on your demo page without any luck.

I should also mention that images and archive thumbnails are not completely visible because they extend beyond the left side of the page. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.13 on a Macintosh.

Thanks for letting me know about errors in different browsers. I'll should be releasing the next version soon and I'll try to fix that. As for the template selector I'm afraid I got rid of it - if you or anyone uses the templates I'm happy to post a link to your site for the demo.

The template I use currently on my site is my Ra Template which you can download. Otherwise my horus template is the same as the one you can download.
If there is something you want from it in particular I can try to help you?

Hi
You have to enable the Paged Archive Addon which is included in the orginal pixelpost download. Go to your addons section in Admin and make sure it is on.
If you want to add something like a links page copy the about page but rename it links_template. Then you can add links to this.
the page address would be http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?x=links
(make sure to change "yoursite" to your photoblogs address)
If you want to remove the comments/info links simply go to the image_template and remove the links which will be in the navigation area.
Hope this helps.

No not at all. I suggest if you have, to download pixelpost again and upload the index.php file again.

Hello Scarabaeus,
i use your template, last version and I get an error in IE 7. the "next" navigation button displays at the bottom of the page not on the image itself. the "back" button is ok. I use pixelpost 1.7. in Firefox is ok.
you cand chek it out here http://mirceateodorescu.com/blog/pixelpost/index.php?showimage=1#
thank you for your answer

I've made some changes in the url. check this if you need http://mirceateodorescu.com/blog/
sorry to bother, but I've discovered a new bug. the same buttons shift their position when I open the info/comments page. both in IE and FF. Thanks a lot
The only thing that bugs me is the "scarabaeus" up in the left corner is too big for the top bar, so it overlaps down into the main content area which seems kind of strange.

Yes about the second bug, when the comments open you will need to change so that the comment drop down is the same width as the image using the <IMAGE_WIDTH> tag. Hopefully soon I will try to make a release fixing these problems and also make the logo slightly smaller.
