Control image display order

What do people recommend as the best way to control display order. I have a set of images in a category that I need presented in a particular order. I removed the datetime stamp from the beginning of the image filename thinking that would fix it, but it didnt. This sounds like an easy thing, but I havent found an answer. thanks.

in Pixelpost v1.7 you can set the image display order in General Options of Admin Panel

Removing the datetime stamp from the images after upload will cause your images to break. Pixelpost is not gallery software and what you want sounds like a gallery in a particular order. Since all pictures are shown based upon the publishing date you can use that to show them in order.

However, there is no other way of sorting in categories.
