View Full Version : Image not showing
After upgrading the images are no longer showing. I checked the settings and it does show ../images/ as the location.
When I check my site the images folder is there with the images in the folder. The thumbnails do show up when I select archives.
Can anyone help....

I can't help right now as I'm heading out the door but nobody will be able to help you without at least a link to your photoblog.

yes, indeed, a link would be fine.
Does this happen in all browsers?
Thanks...

You have a JavaScript Error, it says
"fadeTarget has no properties
http://www.barnes177.com/pp/scripts/fade_in.js
Line 43"
As far as I understand that script, your img tag needs to have the id="photo"
Okay, I did add the word Photo to the tag section of the image, but I still do not get the image.
oops! Sorry I will try to edit as shown in the following post here (http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6870)
Well, the fader now works but the images do not show up...
please help...

it looks as if your images are corrupted, the jpg header is broken.
If I try to open http://www.barnes177.com/pp/images/20080215104210_bridge.jpg directly a download starts and I cannot dispaly it with any program
The problem occured before I uploaded that particular image.
I uploaded the bridge.jpg to test v1.7, so if they are being corrupted what is the cause and what do I do from here....

All of the images I've tried to download are corrupt. Did you re-upload your images folder when you upgraded to v1.7?
Do you have any addons installed that modify the images after they've been uploaded?
Well, following the upgrade instruction it states not to upload the images and thumbnails folders (I assume this means leave the old folders in place).
I followed the instructions here (http://www.pixelpost.org/docs/GettingStarted/Upgrade)

Yeah, the instructions say that, but you might be surprised at how many people don't even read the instructions, let alone follow them.
Try this, ftp into your site and download one of the images from your images folder. Can you open it in an image editor?
I was able to FTP and view all images... :-(

did you see the list of image files within the images folder or did you download one or two and opened it in an image viewer or graphic program?
What Addons do you use?
I was able to open the image.
I only have extra exif info v1.1 and advanced stats v1, page by page archive.
maybe I will check the database to make sure file names are the same as the ones being called, if that makes sense.

I don't know if this makes sense. When I open your page I can read out the image URL from the source code but when copy & paste the URL into the browser and try to open it, a download is starting. Trying to open the downloaded image with Photoshop or Irfanview I receive an error telling that the jpeg header is corrupted.
Ok, I guess I found the problem:
Extra Exif Info v1.1
ONLY WORKS WITH PIXELPOST VERSION 1.4+ ...
Remove the Extra Exif Addon and try again
Is turning it off enough to see if it is the problem?

Just delete it. The Exif functions in PP core have been completely re-written, so the addon won't do you any good.
