Hello,

Im really happy with my new Pixelpost blog.
But one thing i was hoping it to do was get my individual images on to search engines better than my last site.
At the moment its just my front page that comes up in searches.
Is there a way of me being able to search the images on my blog from a search engine like google?
I add tags to each image as i upload them but cant seem to get them to work in searches.
What are the upload tags for?

Plus the description of my blog comes out as the same as the title (see below), how can i put in a different description below the title?

Google search:
Chris Keegan // Si-Fi woman Black and white
Chris Keegan-PhotoBlog: Si-Fi woman Black and white,
www.chriskeegan.co.uk/ - 10k - Cached -Similar pages

Yahoo search:
1.Chris Keegan // Si-Fi Woman
... Archives :: Contact. Copyright©2008 Chris Keegan | Powered By Pixelpost.
Si-Fi Woman | 2008-02-13 10:18:16 ... No Comments Yet. Leave a Comment. Name ...

Any help would be great

Thanks

Chris Keegan

I'd say Google has already indexed your site:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Awww.chriskeegan.co.uk&btnG=Google+Search

So it should only be a matter of time before the rest of the pages show up when you search.

If you want your home page to look a little better in the search results, check out this addon:

If you want better search results for your images, then you need to write good descriptions, and display them on the same page as the photo, not in a comment pop up. This also applies to tags, but you're already doing that.

Google ranks pages based on the content of the page. If you're only showing an image with a title, then it's not going to be ranked as highly as it would be if there is also a paragraph with some key words describing the image on the same page.

Also, be careful what you wish for. Most of the google search results I get are from google image search, and frequently my images are hot linked on other sites without credit.
