Browse page - # of comments

How can I set up my browse page so that when I'm hovering on a thumbnail, not only will the name of the image be shown, but also the number of comments? My wife really wants me to fix this :P

Any help here would be great! I think it has something to do with functions_browse.php, but I really have no idea. Again, help would be awesome, thanks!

Two words: template tags.

Changing core code is possible, making the application insecure and difficult to update.

Thanks Dennis. I took a good look at it. It seems a bit too technical for me. Not the image tags, of course, but trying to add an image count into the thumbnail "title" on the browse page. I'm not good with PHP :P It isn't that big of deal. Thanks so much for the help!
