Hi all,

Is there any best practice or any lessons learned you guys can share with regards to pixelpost installation?

I am referring more to :
- where to install it and what to keep in the server after the installation.
- I saw many websites use funny folder name which is more like randomly typed to me, like for example : dsf85899dsaf0. Is this necessary ?
- where do you store your picture files? Do you use the default location set by pixelpost?
- any file setting I need to change after the installation ?

Thanks so much!

I did a lot of work on this Install Documentation:
http://www.pixelpost.org/docs/GettingStarted/Install

Do you really think that there is a need for more? I'll be glad to add any improvements to the file.

- Install it wherever you want on your server. You don't need the documentation nor the template folders you won't use.

- Funny folder names sometimes come directly from the server host and you can't change them if you don't own the domain yourself.

- Yes

- images and thumbnails folders have to have CHMOD 755 or 777 (as explained in the documentation and during the install process)

Thanks austriaka.
I have been following your documentation which is very clear, but I was just wondering if there is any best practice that the forum members have learned along the way that they can share.
Otherwise, your documentation is complete enough.

Thanks again.
