ok i need some assistance here...I have found no other problem on the forums like this.
For some reason I started getting spam out of no where...on a certain image/page.
I think figured I would just delete the image from the database which would then make that image page inaccessable(obsolete) and therefore no spam would be able to be sent through.
I am still getting spam from the comments on that specific image....even though it does not exist anymore. Any way to alleviate this?
Also it seems as the though the spam comments are 'awaiting moderation' and also says there are 10 pages of comments but I see no comments listed. I even have it set to auto post comments.
thanks for any help

I strongly advice you to use the TOKEN for your comments. Go to Admin Options page, Spam Control and activate the token there. Set the minimum time to wait between 2 comments (not too long) and the maximum time between opening the comments page and commenting (not too short).
Add the <TOKEN> tag to the comment form in image_template.html or comment_template.html.
Read here about it: http://www.pixelpost.org/docs/AdminPanel/Options#spam
With v1.7 you can set the individual comment behaviour of each photo, overruling the settings in Admin Options. Check out if there is an individual setting on the photos which receive moderated comments!
So it was not necessary to remove the single image entry, it would have been enough to set the comments to "no comments" on this image.
The 10 pages of comments, hm, is it like this?
Showing 10, page 1 of nnn
That means that there are 10 comments showing per page. You can set this number at the bottom of the comments page.

oops...well i go to the Spam Control page in Admin and this is what i get
Table 'kr_pixelpost.pixelpost_banlist' doesn't exist
What do i need to do on the server side to get this to work? Is something missing and/or set wrong? If this is corrected, maybe the below will be corrected as well....?
and as for the unmoderated comments that are not showing up, it looks like this:

hmmm Kevin, that is odd.. Can you PM the credentials to your admin page (provided you feel comfortable with that)? That way I can take a look at it.

I am not really that comfortable giving out the info for logging in....hope that doesn't offend.
Is there anyway around that, where you might still be able to help me?

No offense taken, merely trying to help. We all know Pixelpost inside out so it is easier for us to take a look than taking the long road of explaining non-technical users what to do
Anyway, open the browse page and append &errorsall at the end of the URL. Press enter and post the results.

im facing a similar problem, even though i have akismet running, i still get spam sometimes, all comments are related to medical drugs...when i check my top 10 referer list, most urls are fake ones that all end in map.html urls.

kriepl, try disabling all addons and check the comment page again. See if it's ok. If so, turn the addons on one by one to see when the problem occurs.
Cameraman: yes, this is the way spammers work. You can close comments for old images. Try google for referer spam, there are some good explanations out there.
