Best Anti Spam Method

Hi !

I'm a little bit confused because of the different methods to avoid spam.

Which is the BEST method ?
Akismet, Defensio ? Captcha ?

Which combinations of the methods are possible and useful ?
Now I use the captcha plugin and don't get spam any more but I'd like to know, if there is a better possibility.

Defensio or Akismet + form token should provide adequate spam protection without the hinderance of your users having to enter a CAPTCHA.

Both Defensio and Akismet will take some time to learn. CAPTCHA is not one of the best solutions, it works merely because the spammers on your blog are uhm... retarded. But they might get smart.

I will read everything about Akismet or Defensio ... when I am fit enough, I will implement it and kill the CAPTCHA ;-)
( I got 20 spam comments a day ... although my pixelpost blog is online for about 2 weeks.)

When he says they take time to learn, he meant they take time to learn what is and inst spam, within a week you should be close to spam free with one of those solutions, SHOULD. I would probably go with defensio first. Ive had some iffy luck with akismet lately. Not bad, but 3-5 a week getting through, vs defensio with 1 or 2 a week at most.

But they will take you a very short amount of time to get setup inside pixelpost.

I've added this (http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6011) method combined with token and absolutely no spam so far. Of course, I use a longer string than "!" to do that as described in the #9 post by Geos in that thread. :)

PS. No akismet/defensio enabled either. :)

I'm an absolute beginner ... and I try to understand these things, before I do. ;-)

Last night I've added the <TOKEN> and set the comment time to 3 minutes.
Time to wait for posting the next comment is 30s and the maximum URLs is 2.
I killed the CAPTCHA and until now, I got no spam comments.

Now I have to wait ... ;-)
