will pixe,post work on the vista basic

i am using vista basic, have installed apache on my laptop, but i am unable to install.
How can i install

Well, besides apache you need a bunch of other webserver related stuff to get Pixelpost running, like PHP, MySQL. If you are not experienced in setting up a working webserver environment on Windows, you can get a package like xampp (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html), which includes an installer for the core programs you need to get Pixelpost running.

And btw. if you ask me, I would always prefer a linux environment for a production (either private or not) webserver. You may try a common linux distribution like Ubuntu in a virtual environment like Virtualbox or VMWare, if the server is for testing purposes on your private machine.
