I want to unplug myself from forum for a while. is there any way to unregister notification emails on replied topics in PHPBB?

Yeap - you must do it yourself for every topic or make it for global in your profile:

Always notify me of replies:
Sends an e-mail when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you post.

Try mark it one more time to NO and if it won't help you must turn it off (in all topics from which you have notification turned on).

PS You have URL to unwatch topic in notification.

this is a common complaint about older phpbb boards, once registed YES a lot of times it will continue, you have to manually go back and change them all to no...with phpbb2 I would have HOPED they would have fixed this, personally I choked up the cash for vbulletin, bug free and very very powerful with super awesome support. I hope that isnt the issue though...I will look into it more if you are still revieving these emails all the time from revious subscriptions, they should die out after time though...
