There was a resize and wallpaper mod for 1.3 and I was just wondering if something like that existed for 1.4 or if it was already incorporated into 1.4?

no, PP does not modify any image

but you must keep in mind that resizing an image with a special tool for that will always bring better results than a php function

why not use Irfanview or other tools before uploading?

And, as another user found out recently, resizing in PHP loses the EXIF information. As a development team, we have decided that Pixelpost should NEVER modify the original image in any way. Most of us are serious photographers and we don't want anything modifying our work without our full control.

If you still want to resize, you can probably get the hack for 1.3 working in 1.4, but remember, the image quality will not be as good and you will lose EXIF info.

Yeah, I contacted the person who made the wallpaper mod under 1.3 and it php resizing does indeed loose exif data.

For me it was just a nice hack, becuase it made posting a thumbnail, regular, and wallpaper sized image all automatic.

I just liked the convienence of it. But once I saw that I was going to loose exif data I wasn't sure if I should use it any more, as exif was one of the things I was most excited about in 1.4

I've never used the app that Connie mentioned, so I'll have to look into that.

My main thing is that using the wallpaper mod, it was quick and easy. An automatic workflow that happened by nature of uploading an image.
