Hi,

I'm new to pixelpost.

Presently, I'm looking for a template that consume low bandwidth. Why? Because part of my "public" still use a dialup (56K modem) connection.
The current installation (default template) display photo in full size (1240x1024 or more).

Here are more details.
My pixelpost installation is to share photos of my daughter. My idea, is that photo are displayed in medium size (700px width?). And a link, in each photo's page allows to download a full sized photo (for desktop background or printing).

Is there any template like this?
Am I missing something in pixelpost's configuration?

Any tips are appreciated.

Most of the templates are based around these widths so they should suit you. I would recommend one with few graphics and javascript effects to load.

I'm not sure to understand. I installed the "horus" template, but it suffers the same problem: when I upload a large file (1487 x 1115, 403.664 KB), it is displayed as is. Is there any option I forgave to resize the image before displaying it?

Perhaps I was not clear (english is not my native language). I'm looking for something like Flickr/Picasa: the image is available on site in three size (at least):
- small for thumbnail (in gallery)
- medium for preview (in photo page)
- large for download (behind a link).

Or should I resize photo before uploading? In which case, large version are not available online.

Take a look at the autoresize addon found at our Extend section. That will resize the photo and has an option to keep the original.

Otherwise you will have to resize it before you upload it.

Perhaps you should take a look at this addon :

http://www.pixelpost.org/extend/addons/midsized-cached-images/

I didn't try it and I don't know if it works but the description sounds like that what you are looking for.

Seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.

But, I certainly missed something, because after installing this addon, nothing occured:
- the "Addons" view is empty (no autoresize, nor akismet, nor defensio) while addons directory is not empty
- no more tabs in "Options" view.
My pixelpost version is the latest one (1.7.1).

What's wrong?

Sorry, I see too late that it is an already reported bug.

I applied patch suggested here and it works:
