With this addon you can add a searchbox to your templates.

I take it this is only searching the description field? It might be a little more useful if it also returned results from the image title, categories, and tags.

At the moment it searches only the title & description field.
It is debatable if it makes sense to search in the tags since you can filter them.

The search as it is now is is quite simple - but should cover the urgent needs (search in title & description).

But of course I'll plan to add more features to the search e.g.:
search other fields like (categories, exif,...), add logical operatores (and, or, not), weight the search results, add more options to refine the query (date range, search within categories,...).

Since I've never planned pics for the future I haven't been thinking of that.

How could this be incorporated with the page by page archive to allow for paged search results?

Hi, this plugin does not work together with paging plugins.
Maybe I'll add that some time.

Austriaka+, Fadattf, has the tag, category, title and description can already be filtered, it takes a loud sens (at least to me!…) to be able to filter IPTC.
I've rewrited the disappeared pp_iptc.php mods http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/showp...93&postcount=1
I can upload it soon but without any search capability on it it's sound like obsolete!
Imagine that you can have all this keywords, descriptions, persons, city, date, etc… very useful and auto extracted on your template!
No need to copy-paste tons of time, no need to overload your PP cats and tags…
It's sound like a dream for me and I don't think I'm alone in this case…

IPTC's are wrongly ignored, it's a real pity. Are you photographers men!!?
