Spam

I am getting increasingly spammed, the majority of it gets caught but the occasional one gets through. Are there any templates which have an anti spam question in the comment form which has to be answered before the comment can be posted. i.e. 2+3 = or two plus three or even a selection of letters to be typed in. Seems to me the best way of stopping spam is to make it harder to post, not try and catch it once it has been posted.

Currently using Defensio.

Many thanks for this, I did install it but found that I could still post with an incorrect sequence of numbers or even no numbers at all. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Perhaps you can use javascript to fight spam. Check this method (http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6011). I have no defensio or akismet enbled and I got no spam for 3 months now... ;)

There are TWO addon files to turn on. Make sure both addons are ON (admin_captcha & front_captcha).

Hi, sorry I've been away and just got back. I've checked that both addon files are on and still find that I can post comments without entering the numbers.

Just to close out this thread, I found that the Captcha add on only works with Askimet not Defensio. Since switching to Askimet with Captcha I have had no spam.
