Comments (admin)

Having some weird comment administrative issues. It shows that I have over 1000 comments in the queue but when I click the link, I get this:

Anyone know what's going on?!

I'm using 1.7.1 and I've got the Defensio spam-filter add-on turned ON, Akismet is turned OFF.

This is because you deleted the image (look up the id image) where the spam send the comment. I know it because it happens to me with image #74 of my photoblog. I deleted it, but spam still send spam to that image id number..

Thanks for the reply! Is there any way to get rid of these spam messages somehow... like directly via mysql admin or something?! I'm just thinking of how much space they take in the database...

Yes, go into phpmyadmin and take a look at the comments table

Look for obvious spam and delete.
