Hey guys -

My Photoblog has really slowed down as I have added more and more content. I now have over 800 images in the archive. Deleting them isn't an option; I use these as a digital light box and my editors browse them as a stock archive.

What can I do to speed Pixelpost up? I know one of my problems is that Network Solutions imposes a 1 second delay between MySQL requests. But, that shouldn't make all my thumbnails load so slowly, should it?

Can anyone offer any tips for optimizing the speed of Pixelpost?

A 1 second delay between MySQL requests is ridiculous. That's most definitely why it's taking the browse page 18 seconds to generate.

For a test, you can try turning off all addons for a little bit, just to verify that the problem isn't caused by an addon. Then if the speed is pretty much the same, with them all off, it might be a good idea to checkout some other faster web hosts. I know Eleven2.com has some really reasonable plans, and they hosts our site, which seems fast enough to me. :)

Hopefully that helps!

Have a look in the pixelpost hosting section and maybe think about changing host.
