deleting images - "Could not delete image file. You have to do that some other way,..

When I delete an image I gives me:

"Post deleted. Could not delete image file. You have to do that some other way, with your ftp software perhaps.

Could not delete thumbnail. You have to do that some other way, with your ftp software perhaps."

It's only until recent my images and thumbnails can't get deleted, why??

I have only received that message when the actual file I was trying to delete did not exist.

Are you sure the images you are deleting exist?
