hi! I'm not sure if this has been posted, if it was, sorry, please point me to that thread. My current free hosting service is acting crazy, I have downtime for 2-3 days, seldomely followed by online activity and I decided to go to another host. My question is: can I migrate to another server keeping all my current information or do I have to start all over again? If I can copy everything on a new server, how should I do it? I have all my files backed up on my hdd and I assume I have to export my MySQL database and then what? Will a simple Import database work?
Thank you for you help!

I have a similar question myself. I want to move my existing site www.explosif.org to a different domain name but with the same hosting provider.
What is the best process to move a pixelpost site?
Cheers

To move PixelPost, you need to move all of the PixelPost files, including your images and thumbnails folders, from the existing site to the new site. You'll also need to export your MySQL database, and import it at the new site. Then you would just edit the includes/pixelpost.php file to reflect the database info for the new host, and you should be up and running.
I just spent the other day working on something similar to this. I don't know if my answer will help. I wanted to change domains but stay with the same host. Using FTP, I dragged my files on to my desktop and then opened up FTP to the new site and dragged into appropriate file there. I went to the pixelpost install page and fixed the path errors and permissions. voila - the site was up and running under a different domain name. (it took me a lot longer than "voila" to do all this...)
I wonder if you could just install pixelpost at your new host, THEN drag all your files over and "restore" your database?
