How to use "Clean urls" ? Please Help?

I have extracted the content of Clean Url in the addons folder and activated the addon

Now Please explain the next step ?
How to use it ???

At addons section of admin console always there should be some short description for each one. Go there and read it. Probably there will be the list of described tags.

This addon requires Apache with PHP as module and .htaccess file support.
It gives URLs to pictures without paramaters in query string.

Its getting over my head so please tell me what i need to do to make it run properly
