View Full Version : Only spam getting through :-(

I am currently running a v.1.7.1 with Defensio installed. I was having a serious problem with spam so I was happy for the upgrade. Its made things a LOT worse, sending me the spam (well, to the Defensio quarantine) and not letting through genuine comments.

Right now I have over 3,000 spam (?) messages in my Defensio quarantine. I was just trusting that Defensio was flagging everything properly, for the most part, because I can't go through all of those messages as they come in. Everything in the quarantine is labeled "Spaminess: COMMENT NOT CHECKED WITH DEFENSIO CLICK HERE TO TRY AGAIN."

Then I realized that I hadn't received a comment in a really long time and I got an e-mail from someone who checks my site regularly to tell me that they couldn't leave a comment.

When I try to leave a comment, this is the message I get:
__________________________________________________ ______

Not Found
The comment could not be accepted because it got flagged as SPAM by our anti-SPAM measures. (ERR: 06).

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Please help. This is so frustrating. I've been dealing with this spam issue forEVER and now I can't even get regular comments. I did a totally standard upgrade and followed the instructions very carefully.

EDIT: I just turned Defensio completely off and I get the same "flagged as SPAM by our anti-SPAM measures." message when trying to post a comment. Blah!

Defensio isn't the problem.

Well, there might be an issue with it I can solve by upgrading, but I've completely turned it off to isolate the issue and still cannot get a single comment through, so the primary issue is not with Defensio -- its with how I have PixelPost configured. I don't even know what "anti-SPAM measures" the error message is referring to.

Well, I wish I could report back on what the problem was for the archives but I really don't know. I reinstalled the entire PixelPost 1.7.1 installation setting everything back to its default (except for my template), fiddled with this and that, and now it works.

ERR: 6 is the error you get when you try to comment on a picture that has commenting disabled.
