Problem with Dark Matter' (v1.02 free) Comment Form

Hey, I would like to start out by saying awesome theme, really one of the best out there and thanks for all the hard work!
Ok, the problem I am having is concerning the transition of the Comment Form animation.
The transition for the "Image Info" is very smooth, but the transition for the Comment Form seems chunky and cut up.
I tried it with following setups:

Windows Vista Firefox 3.0 :
- The first time I click, the screen goes heywire a bit and the form doesn't open, then when I click again it opens but not very smoothly
- When I close the Comment Form again, and use Alt + Tab to switch between windows and switch back to Firefox, the Form opens up by itself!

Windows Vista IE:
- First time I click Comment Form, it does some whacky things, and from then on it opens up rather smoothly
- Has the same Alt Tab issue

Debian Linux Firefox 3.0:
Same issues as Vista (including the Alt Tab thingy)

Mac OS X Firefox:
Sliding works totally fine on both item points

So those are the tests I've done so far. As I said I really like everything about this theme, but the sliding is a major takeback (maybe all I have to do is change a setting for transition speed or something?) would be nice if someone had any ideas for me, thanks!

I changed the way this works in Dark Matter Pro and fixed a bug in the way animation is handled as well. Can you have a go at http://demo.darkmatter-template.com/ and tell me whether you think it's better like this?

I'll try to do a quick patch in the next few days to fix this commentform issue if you can verify it's working better in DM Pro.


P.S: A LOT of new topics are opened about Dark Matter (Pro). Maybe we can all try to merge questions into two or so topics? I wouldn't want to infest the forum with stuff about just this one template.

Hey thanks for the quick answer. I can confirm that the animation is definetly smoother in the Pro theme, mostly on the way down, as it slides out and then jumps there.
When you close the Comment Form it is a little chunky again (but not nearly as bad), this is only tested with Vista and FF 3.0 this time.
I would love to see a fix or a patch for this sometime soon, or if you could point into the rough direction I don't have a problem with hacking around in the code (although I have basically 0 experience :) )
Thanks again for your help and I am awaiting a solution with much anticipation :)

Hey man, thanks a bunch!
Yeah that new version of scripts_minimized.js does the trick. Still the closing animation isn't perfect on my side (still vista and FF 3.0) but the opening animationis great and works very well. Definetly makes this theme a lot more usable!

The closing is jittery because it changes the window size I guess. At the moment I don't really know how to fix it except for completely taking out the animation. If that is desired I could easily do that. Firefox is actually exceptionally crappy with JS animation. IE and Safari are a lot smoother.
