Help with installation

Hello,

this is my first post here :-). I couldn't post in "help" forum for some reason, so I do it here.

I have been googeling arounda and checking pp forums, but I don't seem to see anything that describes my case. I am trying to install pp, and I can go through installation start. But once I come to database info, whatever I enter into fields will just left me with blank page after. I have also tryed to edit "pixelpost-sample.php", as suggested in some tutorials around on the net and enter database info manually, but it didn't help. My php installation is setuped to show "all errors", but there are no errors showing up, only a blank page after "test connection" on database setup. (I am talking about html instalation).

What do I do wrong? I am trying latest version (just downloaded from the net).

Should I add that I am trying with pp 1.7.1; php 5.2.1, mysql 5.0.45 and appache 2.2

I have some previous experience with all of above mentioned but pixelpost (I have working oscommerce installation, phpmyadmin and wordpress).

Did you rename the pixelpost-sample.php file to pixelpost.php?

I am having the same issue. My pixelpost-sample.php has not been renamed and it has the same permissions as the web server daemon (webservd).

Whenever I enter the database settings and press "Test Connection" it takes me to a blank page.

The HTTP response is "500 Server Error" , so something is obviously wrong, but its not logging anything or giving any indication of what the problem might be.

Im running on:
Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8a DAV/2 PHP/5.2.4
Mysql 5.0.45

The browser is Firefox 3.0.1

Any ideas?

You have to enter your database details into pixelpost-sample.php on your local computer and save the file as pixelpost.php, and upload it with the other PP files before you attempt installation. PP will not rename that file on the server when you try to install.

I can't get past the database connection page.

I've edited and renamed the pixelpost.php file.

Now, I'm getting this error:

"Database Connection Error: Table 'pixelpostdb.config' doesn't exist"

Yes, I already created the database and placed the connection details into pixelpost.php.

I've tried deleting and creating another database but i get the same error: "dbname.pixelpost_config' doesn't exist

Does it work when you simply enter the DB details in to the webpage when you try and install, when I installed Pixelpost I entered my DB details during the installation in my browser.

At first, I didn't put my connection details in pixelpost.php. It gave me an error:
access denied username@dbname...
access denied nobody@localhost...

If I input the details, I get the error: 'dbname.pixelpost_config' doesn't exist.

I've been going round and round with the installation buy can't make it work.

I even used the connection details given by MySQL account maintenance but still get the same error.

Hi Dennis,

1. I followed the normal installation at first. The only warning I had was the permissions to the thumbnails/image folder. I updated that. Without touching the pixelpost.php, I got this error:

access denied username@dbname...
access denied nobody@localhost...

2. After that, I edited pixelpost.php by putting the details into the "replace me" parts. I got this error:

... 'dbname.pixelpost_config' doesn't exist.

3. I then used the suggested connection details from the mysql account manager page. I copied this and pasted over the existing codes. I get the same error as #2.

my friends i have a same problem . i change my database host and import all tables in correctly and then iam install pp in admin page and all parts done correctlly,but in last part (Finalize) i see this error :
